I must have blogged a thousand times…in my head over the last year and a half.
I feel so guilty about letting the blog go, but it was necessary for my sanity. You see, I didn’t know it at the time of my last post, but a big life changing event was on the horizon.
Right after Christmas, my boyfriend at the time (JP) got down on one knee and proposed.
In case you were wondering, I said YES!
After the initial shock & joy, we started planning our wedding. I foolishly thought I could still keep all my ambitious running & fundraising goals while planning a formal destination wedding & working full-time.
HA! I was so naive.
I tried to fight it off as long as I could, but eventually the wedding planning took over my free time & I had to put some of those goals on hold.
There were so many decisions. And as soon as a major decision was made, there was no relief. According to “The Knot” my next decision was 3 months overdue.
Any of you ladies and/or gents who have planned a wedding know exactly what I’m talking about!
Anyways, let’s skip ahead, JP and I tied the knot in Puerto Rico and are now happily married – going on 2 months!
As things have started to settle down in my personal life, I’ve re-evaluated my running goals & have come up with a game plan to get back on track.
I’ll be running my first race in over a year on June 18th. I’ll be assessing my fitness level at the Gettysburg 5K.
After that, I’ve set my sights on a hilly 10 miler in Annapolis towards the end of summer, followed by a half marathon in September, and another 10 miler in October.
But, that’s not all folks. I will be making a very BIG race announcement within the next week or so – stay tuned 🙂
